Advocating for Better Care, Stronger Families, and Smarter Policy

Standing Up for Those Who Need It Most
At Team Select Home Care, advocacy isn’t an add-on, it’s at the heart of who we are. Across the country, we are driving change to support children with medical complexity and the families who love and care for them. Through bold partnerships, evidence-based recommendations, and personal stories, we are reshaping how states understand, fund, and prioritize pediatric home care.
Our Mission – Support the Family
From home care workforce shortages to Medicaid limitations, families face systemic barriers that put children at risk of hospitalizations, emotional trauma, and financial hardship.
Private Duty Nursing (PDN) Advocacy
Medicaid rates for in-home nursing care haven’t kept pace with the cost of living, or the growing demands on nurses.
How We Help
- Partner with lawmakers to increase PDN reimbursement rates
- Demonstrate how higher rates lead to greater nurse retention, continuity of care, and fewer hospitalizations
- Present data on how longer hospital stays and emergency room overuse cost states millions
The Family CNA Model
The Family CNA model enables trained, certified family members to provide care for their medically fragile children; safely, professionally, and with compensation.
How We Help
- Educate states on how the model works and the cost savings it generates
- Help design state-specific implementation plans
- Share research and real stories who see reduced hospitalizations and increased stability through the program
- Collaborate on legislative language and public testimony to expand access nationwide
“Having a medically complex child is a 24-hour job. Becoming a Family CNA gave me the training, support, and income to keep my daughter safe at home, and gave our family hope.”
— Brittany, Family CNA & Advocate
Team Select is proud to support voices like Brittany’s. These caregivers are not only part of the solution, they are the heart of it.

Highlighting Home Care as a Cost-Saving Solution
Our Message to Policymakers:
Home health care isn’t just more compassionate, it’s more cost-effective.
- Children with access to consistent home care are less likely to require ER visits or long hospital stays
- Family-centered models reduce reliance on institutional care
- States save by investing in home care up front rather than paying for costly hospital stays after the fact.

How You Can Help
Whether you’re a policymaker, parent, clinician, or supporter, you have a voice. And together, we’re building a future where every medically complex child gets the care they deserve. Together we can –
- Keep kids out of hospitals
- Support hardworking families
- Strengthen the care workforce
- Save the state money
- Build a smarter Medicaid system
