COVID-19: How Team Select Continues to Navigate
More than a year has passed since the first case of nontravel-related COVID-19 was confirmed in the United States. According to Google Statistics, there are now over 33 million confirmed cases in the United States and over 190 million confirmed cases worldwide.
“Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by a newly discovered coronavirus. Most people infected with the COVID-19 virus will experience mild to moderate respiratory illness and recover without requiring special treatment. Older people, and those with underlying medical problems like cardiovascular disease, diabetes, chronic respiratory disease, and cancer are more likely to develop serious illness.” – World Health Organization (WHO)
Throughout the entirety of the coronavirus pandemic, front-line warriors, patient advocates, and healthcare superheroes we call nurses risked their lives to keep their communities safe from this infectious disease that swiped the nation. And, while healthcare workers acted heroically, Team Select was not far behind supporting them in every way possible.
To present day, Team Select provides personal protective equipment (PPE) for all employees, along with ensuring a safe environment by requiring all employees to take their temperature upon arrival and vocalize when they do not feel well to stay home until symptoms have been diagnosed.
Communication plays a key role in ensuring the health and safety of our employees. From emails, text messaging, to rotating messaging on our office TVs, we make sure all employees feel heard, and that they are receiving all necessary updates for their overall wellbeing.
In January of 2021, coronavirus vaccines began to rollout in stages across the United States, recommended by the CDC that first available vaccines be given to those who are a healthcare professional and to long-term care facility residents.
According to Google Statistics, there are now over 160 million fully vaccinated individuals in the United States, however, that is only close to 50% of the population. With only close to 50% of the population fully vaccinated, Team Select believes there is a lot of progress to be made.
“COVID-19 vaccines have received and continue to undergo the most intensive safety monitoring in U.S. history. These vaccines are effective,” said Team Select Physician Clay Hall, MSN, FNP, MBA.
“Getting vaccinated is a selfless act. By getting vaccinated you can help protect those around you who may not be able to protect themselves like children, elderly adults, and individuals who physically can’t receive the vaccine.”
Every month, Team Select sends a COVID-19 Vaccination Update communication to all employees promoting the vaccination incentive program, providing information on why individuals should get vaccinated, along with knowledge regarding our company’s vaccinated population percentages, per department, per division. By sending these communications we hope to continue promoting health and wellness amongst our Team Select Family!
